#hcsm – March 6, 2011

Watch the live #hcsm stream from March 3, 2011 at 8pm Central here (new window). If you missed the chat, you should be able to come back and scroll through it again, any time. (Availability of archive depends on how Twitter API is working during the chat. I recommend searching for #hcsm directly on Twitter in real-time to watch/participate in the chat.)

  1. Can social media be used between healthcare providers for coordinating care? What are the ideal tools/channels?
  2. Do health eCards have value? When would you send? How would you react if recipient? More effective than PSAs or not?
  3. You invest time online, at health conferences, at work, etc. Do you gauge effectiveness of your time in each place? How?

Don’t forget – if you’d like to submit a topic for a future #hcsm chat, you’re welcome to! Read the details on the different ways to submit a topic for a #hcsm chat.

Also, if you missed the chat, or want to add additional thoughts & feedback to the above discussion topics, leave a comment & keep the discussion going!

  1. Question #1 is interesting. We think social media can definitely help health providers. In a way, it already is. Certain blogs and online communities definitely provide a sort of support system for emergency healthcare providers, and social sites for professionals like LinkedIn can help place healthcare workers at a hospital.
